iPhone messages can be hard to access if you get an indexing error. It can also prevent you from viewing attachments or using search features.
Fortunately, it is possible to fix this problem by following some simple tips. To start with, restart your device.
Messages
If you’re an Apple user, your iPhone probably comes with a pretty robust texting app called Messages. It’s probably one of the most used apps on your device, and it also happens to be incredibly feature-packed.
There are a lot of ways to customize your iMessage experience, and it’s worth getting familiar with them before you start using them. iMessages can be configured to send alerts for important texts, filter spam messages, or even let you send money via text. The most basic type of text message is SMS, or “Short Messaging Service.” It’s a way to send text messages over cellular networks. These texts aren’t encrypted, so they can be read by third parties like phone companies or government agencies.

Contacts

One of the most useful features that Apple’s Contacts app brings to your phone is its ability to search through all your contacts by name, email address or both. You can even sort your contacts by phone number, social media profiles or other details.
When you tap a contact’s name, the app will open their info card in a new window. Here, you can see more detail about the person, including their phone number and a picture. You can even call the person directly from their contact card, without having to open another app first.
If you don’t want to call the person right away, you can tap ‘Skip Contact’. This allows you to move on to the next contact in your list.
A long-press on a contact opens its quick actions sheet, where you can choose to Message, Call, Video, Mail, Pay or Share it. You can also make it a Me Card, which means that you’re adding it to your contact list but also giving it some extra privileges, such as being able to receive emergency calls or text messages.
You can also add a relationship label for a contact manually. When viewing the contact’s details, you can scroll down and tap “Add Related Name” to add a new label.
In addition, iOS 16 brings the ability to merge duplicate contacts. This is something that macOS has been able to do since at least 2005, and iOS 16 now brings it to the iPhone as well.
The All Contacts view will show a Duplicates Found message at the top, and you can select a contact to view its duplicate information or ignore it. If you’re unsure about how to proceed, you can always re-sync all the duplicates in your iCloud account.
Calendar
You probably use a calendar app on your smartphone or tablet, such as Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Apple Calendar, or one of the other big players. You may have several calendars for different purposes, such as your work and home calendars or a fitness calendar and a church calendar. Often you can color code these calendars to keep them organized and easy to find.
You can also customize the way Apple Calendar scrolls through your week view. This determines how much of the week you’ll see and which day shows first. You can set the start of the week to be Sunday, Monday, or any other day. You can also choose to have the days scroll off of the left or right side as you click on them, or you can change how much of a day flies past when you scroll in week view.
Another feature that can be useful is the ability to invite people to events. This is done by typing their name or email address into the invitations box, and Apple searches the contacts on your phone or iPad for entries that match. This is a handy tool if you want to send an invitation to someone and have them accept it before the event actually happens.
The next step is to create a new calendar that contains the event. This is a great way to make sure that the event gets created and appears in the correct calendar. You can enter a date and time for the event, as well as other details, such as who is invited, the location of the event, and the type of event (like an appointment).
When you’re creating a calendar, Apple will suggest an event for you. It will look at your history of events and adjust its suggestions based on the details you’ve given it.
